More about shopping through the JGS-Montreal portal
Jewish Genealogical Society of Montreal is not claiming that shopping online at Amazon.ca or Amazon.com is right for you. You need to make that
However, many of our members and their families have found that:
- Amazon.ca is a great source for books, CDs, DVDs, software and computer accessories. In the last several years, they have started selling a very wide variety of home and garden products, including kitchen and other home small appliances, furniture, bedding and a whole host of other things. Prices are usually
competitive and often far below those in stores Shipping is free in Canada for
most things (minimum $25 order)..
- Amazon.com is a great source for books, CDs, DVDs,
electronics of all sorts, cameras, kitchen appliances, tools and much
more. Prices tend to be very good and shipping to the US is often free.
Not all items can be shipped to Canada, and if allowed, shipping costs
can range from very low to outrageously high – check carefully. Duty
and GST may be applied on arrival in Canada.
- Both merchants offer gift cards and certificates which can be delivered physically or via e-mail. They are the ideal gift!
- Amazon.com is a GREAT source of reviews of products of all
sorts, regardless of where you plan to buy them.
If you shop online, we suggest that you comparison shop - no single merchant has the best price on everything, and if you do not qualify for free shipping, that can also make a difference.
If you decide on shopping at
Amazon, and you place the order using the links on our home page or
